Like at any large postsecondary or governmental institution, communication at Texas State University is frequently peppered with acronyms. For early-career faculty and new appointments, this can be particularly confusing.
What does NRUF stand for? How are MULT and MULP different? And what do students mean when they say they’re off to SBS? We hope the following list clarifies a few of these TXST-related terms.

Multicultural Perspective Course Attribute: Indicates that a course uses a variety of strategies to encourage multicultural literacy, including content, instructional strategies, assessment, and classroom interactions. When this is the only classification noted, the content is less than 60 percent.

Multicultural Content Course Attribute: Indicates a course has 60 percent multicultural content (U.S. or international).

NetID
Texas State provides each of its authorized users with a computer account, known as a NetID. This provides access to the university's information resources. It is usually a combination of your initials and random numbers.
