The What’s Next? Charting Your Path program is for Texas State faculty who are mid-career and seeking to create a plan for a project to develop their career.

Faculty with five or more years of full-time service at TXST can apply to participate, and those who attend all five development sessions receive a $500 stipend and up to $1500 for their project.

NOTE: Applications for the 2025 What's Next cohort CLOSED Friday, October 25th at 5PM.

What You Can Expect

In this self-directed model, faculty start with a goal or idea of a path they would like to explore in their own career development. Through a self-nomination process, 12-15 faculty are chosen to participate in building a community of practice during the Spring semester around individual and collective career development strategies.
